LESLIE VAN DUZER

After completing her graduate studies at UC Berkeley and briefly practicing in San Francisco and Vienna, Leslie began her academic career at the University of Michigan. She subsequently held academic positions at numerous schools in the North America, Europe and Asia. She moved to Vancouver in 2010 to serve for five years as SALA Director, before returning to teaching and writing full time.

Leslie is co-author/co-editor of four books: Adolf Loos: Works in the Czech Lands, Mies van der Rohe: Krefeld Villas, Rudolf Arnheim: Revealing Vision, and Villa Müller: A Work of Adolf Loos, and sole author of House Shumiatcher, the first of eight volumes in the West Coast Modern House series. Her book, Almost, Not: The Architecture of Atelier Nishikata, will be published in April 2021 and she is now at work on her seventh book, Type Casting.
